The Ukrainian language is an East Slavic language mainly spoken in Ukraine. It is also the official language of Ukraine. People also speak it as a minority language in several other countries, including Kazakhstan, Poland, Romania, and some other places.
Ukrainian comes from the colloquial language beginning around the 10th to 13th century. It uses the Cyrillic alphabet and has many of the same characteristics as Russian and Belarusian.
Modern Ukrainian became more popular at the end of the 1600s. At the end of the 18th-century, literacy using the Ukrainian language emerged. Belarusian is part of the Ukrainian language group and uses many words from Polish.
