Ghana is a sovereign state and a republic. Ghana was one of the first countries to gain independence in Africa, that was 1957. The name Ghana comes from Ghana Kingdom that existed between 700-1000 BC. Ghana today has a population of 30 million people that mostly speak english but also various number of other local languages. The capital is Accra. Ghana has 9 bigger minorities and some smaller ones, with Akans being almost 50% of the population. Gambling is legal and regulated in Ghana.
